Seasonal Changes

Title:Seasonal Changes
Written by: Lyanne Low

Oh, how unique,
This planet is in many ways,
Natural views and scenary,
Special in every way.

Spring, when all the flowers bloom,
And kids come out to play,
The sun shines ever-so brightly,
With it's brilliant yellow rays.

And spring is the time,
When sweet flowers bloom,
With freshness in the air,
And in the distance, can be heard a calling,
Sweet song-birds sing their praises to Mother Earth.

Months later, summer comes to visit,
Where cool fresh air is replaced by hot sunny weather,
Visits by the beach on hot dry days,
With ice-cool lemonade,
And sweet-sour cool drinks,
Ah... Summer's a time to cool down,
Time to relax!

Autumn, also known as fall,
Comes along with brilliantly warm colours,
The colours on the leaves represent and remind us,
About the Earth's natural beauty, and seasonal changes.

Brown, red, orange, yellow,
Heart-warming colours that prepare us for winter,
Breezes of cool air breathe on fallen leaves,
And soon, the freezing chill shall come.

Winter is here, with ice and snow,
Once gentle and graceful willow trees are frozen up in frost,
Sheen transparent ice covers frozen ponds and lakes,
Reflecting it like glass, crystal and sheer diamond.

Days go by, and the weather gets warmer,
Ice and snow melt and return to water.
Spring is arriving once more with warmer air,
These are our seasonal changes,
Differences in the world.

Views of Life

Title:Views Of Life
Written By:Lyanne Low
Inspiration from "The Best Things In Life" by Ng Shi Hui.

It's a sweet silent night,
As I take my first step out of that rosewood-made door.
Starring up into the bright starry sky,
The stars seem to be blinking to me,
As many thoughts run through my mind....

I walk over by the garden bench,
The old wooden bench left over all these year
With a few cobwebs here and there, and thin, pale-coloured vines,
Curling all around.

Sniffing and smelling the sweet and pleasant-scenting flowers,
Yellow daffodils, red roses, and pink tipped-tulips....
A turn and I see a piece of beautiful artwork, making me wonder if I'm in dreamland...
A crystal and marble made fountain, decorated with chips of diamond and glass,
And as the teardrop-shaped water droplets splash about, it seems as if I'm watching dancing ice..
A royal scene indeed, as the centerpiece of the garden.

Deeper shall I walk into this garden of mysteries, palace of secrets, road with no endings.
Marble white arches, polished to shine,
With vines of green climbing and flowers of white.
Lush green bushes and hedges of evergreen.
And poking out the blue-green and mint-coloured leaves,
Are white tipped flowers, or yellow and red petals.

And as I look afar into the distance,
I see a dark, blood-coloured ball, orange and pale yellow at the edges,
Rising above the icy white peaks of the lush green mountains.
And in the distance, a bird-calling can be heard,
And soon the source comes into sight,
A bright red-breasted robin,
Sweetly singing a soft melody in the pale blue sky...

And soon, I see statues made of marble, gold, silver and bronze,
With rubies, diamonds, crystals, emeralds, sapphires and every precious jewel you could think of,
Along with lacy intricate designs and patterns decorating the bases and statues,
And suddenly,
As I stop in surprise, and sit up in bed, I realize, I was in wonderland, and it was all just a dream.

Doubt

Title:Doubt
Written by: Lyanne Low

With all but doubt,
We live our lives.
Being insulted, infuriated,
It's unbearable...

The doubts and thoughts,
Are all weaving intricate webs in my mind.
I don't know who to trust,
What to believe,
Confusion is senile.

In this crazy and unknowing world,
No one can fully place trust in anything or anyone,
'Cause its full of lies and betrayal.
Doubting and hesitation is necessary and natural,
Living in this unfair world.

And though I walk through this disturbing place,
This road of nothing but cold, black hardness,
I hope that one day, when all doubts, troubles and problems are gone,
I'll see the bright light at the end of the tunnel, leading my way,
The bright light that shines and disintegrates all doubts.

Sorrow

Sorrow is a feeling,
That is drenched with disappointment,
It rarely appears to some,
But its deep inside every heart.

Sorrow has a depth,
A depth that cannot be estimated,
Nor can it be seen,
With the eyes of joy, that can't understand pain.

Sorrow is always there,
Lurking in the hearts of those who experience suffering,
It plunges the heart deep into never-ending depths,
And causes much misery.

Sorrow is but a breeze to those who feel nothing,
But those who often feel it understand the pain,
Of the feeling of sorrow,
It sheds tears and sounds moans.

Sorrow is a feeling that must be endured,
A feeling that must be conquered,
And if the wound is deepened, its hard to save,
Until a light at the end of the long, dark tunnel is seen,
The last flicker of hope.

Candy Galore!!

Title:Candy Galore!!
Written by: Lyanne Low
Pink, yellow, red, and green,
Different coloured but still as sweet,
Lollipops, sherbets, milky rich chocolate,
Candy galore, sweet paradise!

Toffees, munchies, sweet-tasting gummies,
Fizzy pieces that go pop in your tummies,
Sweet-toothed children can't help but take a bite,
But then they're worked up, and yell out in delight!

Ice cream, and sprinkles, and silver-coloured balls,
Delicious as they are, should be avoided at all cost.
Marshmallows and hot chocolate, and melt-in-your-mouth sweets,
Make all the children's mouths water in vain!

Crushed

Title:Crushed
Written by:Lyanne Low

Hope flashes by, glittering through my eyes,
One moment it's there, and now its gone.
The tiny speck of hope fades away,
Disappointment crashes, like waves of desperation,
towering above me.
Only now, have I lost my faith.

Tears trickle down, as I realize betrayal,
From one, who's trust I've never failed.
My broken heart, cries out in sorrow,
I'm torn apart, between reality and desperate hope.
And now, I'm finally gone with all trust.

My veins pound with blood of fury,
Anger wells up inside my heart,
Discouragement turns to flames that enrage me,
I hear a roaring thunder in my ears, there's nothing left,
Belief is all gone, and blood turns to ice,
as I realize the truth.

Scenery Surrounds Us

Title:Scenery Surrounds Us
Written by:Lyanne Low

Over mountains of green and grey, and icy white peaks,
Seas of navy and crashing white waves,
Rust brown sand covering the shores and beaches,
Scenery stretches far and wide.

Skies of blue and clouds of white,
Children frolic in the sun, where everything is bright.
Flowers bloom, in pink and yellow,
Indeed, scenery is like the beautiful touch of lively music,
Which enlightens our lives so.

The trees and greenery dot our earth,
Rich brown soil and soft marshy land,
Colours of rainbow are in everyday lives,
Scenery brightens our life, and nature shall be seen.

Timeless

Title: Timeless
Written by:Lyanne Low

Dawn starts first, with small weak rays,
Then sunrise is with but a shining bright ball,
Sunhigh carries on, the bright ball emitting dazzling sunlight,
The bright ball fades during sunset, but not without its ablazed dash of fire,
And soon, dusk shall veil the earth.

Starlight comes, and fills the night sky, they glitter in the dark,
Moonrise is with its pale yellow light, and its pearly silver glow, brightens the night sky,
But then, midnight arrives and settles the sky in darkness,
Time passes by, and twilight comes, the time, which plunges the world into darkness...

And not long after, dawn returns with rays of light creeping through the ferns.
